Motto: A family of proud producers of nature's most perfect food

From 1839 until today, six generations of the Obert family have lived and farmed in Gibson County, Indiana. The family got into the dairy business in 1956, although Obert Legacy Dairy in its current form was founded in 2010. Four family members work full-time on the farm and two family members work part time. The family, with the help of nine full-time employees, milks 700 cows and farms 1000 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay. The next generation of farmers is strongly represented at Obert Legacy Dairy, with two of Steve and Kelly Obert's sons back at the farm after college and the third still in high school.

The Oberts developed a passion for dairy cows through 4-H and still show registered Holstein cows today. The family members are very active in their community. Steve Obert serving as a 4-H leader and a board member of the Indiana Dairy Producers professional association, in addition to being active in church activities. Kelly Obert is a long-serving member of several soccer boards. Steve and Kelly's adult sons are also active in the community. Klinton Obert serves on the Gibson County Extension Board and Wesley Obert is on the Gibson Southern High School FFA advisory board.

Obert Legacy Dairy hosts farm tours at no charge throughout the year.
