Motto: Any job big or small, do it right or not at all.

Mayhill Holsteins was established in 1967 and today is home to the 2013 Indianapolis 500 Milkman, Duane Hill, who handed the famous drink of milk to winning driver Tony Kanaan in Victory Lane. The Hills milk 60 dairy cows and farm 555 acres in Fountain City.

Duane grew up milking cows before going to school in the morning, and that level of commitment is reflected in his personal life — he and his wife, Joyce Ann, have been married since 1962. They have five children, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All of the kids grew up helping on farm, especially during the showing season, when Mayhill’s registered Holsteins were gussied up and led out into the ring to compete for top prize. Duane enjoys judging 4-H dairy cow shows and helping the 4-H kids with their cattle.
